Labour Relations Amendment Act: Employer Obligations

Recent amendments to the Labour Relations Act have introduced strengthened obligations for employers in relation to unfair dismissals and workplace disciplinary procedures.


Employers must now demonstrate that they have followed a fair process, including proper investigation, reasonable timelines, and appropriate sanctions. The amendments also strengthen protections for whistleblowers.


It is critical that employers review their disciplinary codes and policies to ensure compliance with the amended provisions.
